Turn the water off from the main shutoff valve located by the side of house and see if the small triangle is turning or not if the small triangle is not turning or is dead in a time interval of two minutes then there is no leak outside the house. But if the triangle is turning then it means you have a leak somewhere outside the house between the meter and house. Now turn the main shut off valve on and see if the triangle on the meter is turning or not if it is turning slow then it means you have a slow leak somewhere inside the house if the triangle is turning fast then leak is major.
